Most of us notice that computers play an important role in our life. Today we can not imagine a lot of our activities without computers. Thats why we can see that computers have a great effect on our life. Thanks to computers we are able to do many things which were unreal before. As a result of the use of computers we can see that, besides all other, the area of knowledge of modern people was considerably increased. Many new objects and new words entered in our everyday life, we learned to use the difficult computer programs and to keep our head before unusual terms. One of such interesting terms is RAID. RAID indicates redundant array of independent disks. Firstly it was called not independent but inexpensive disks because those disks were much cheaper than RAM-disks. RAID was created by several scientists from America many years ago. Those scientists described, how it is possible to unite a few cheap hard disks in one logical device so that a capacity and speed of work of the system will rise as a result, and the refusal of separate disks did not effect in the refusal of all system. So when we say RAID we talk about array from some disks, guided by a comptroller, associate the speed ductings and perceived by the external system as whole unit. Depending on an in-use array type RAID can provide the various degrees of speed of work. RAID is useful for the increase of durability of database and for the rev-up of reading or recording information. So, we discovered that RAID is a way of renewal of errors of hard disk, based on the fact, that two or more hard disks work parallel. Every disk contains part of information, necessary for the renewal of integral set of data only. Information for a record on every single disk is divided on the so-called bars from one bit to a few the megabyte and attended additional bits for the recovery of errors. If there is a failure in work of one of disks, information can be recovered on another disk, using maintenance of other disks of array. Depending on a rank (from 0 to 7) the different ways of uniting disks are given: RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 2, RAID 3, RAID 4, RAID 5. You should know that each type of RAID may fail and after that you will have to recover your database without unerase of information. Very helpful in such situation is a special programme for raid recovery. Raid Recovery has become a really important tool for all users of different types of RAID arrays. It would be better for you to visit a special web-site to get more information about such software as raid recovery and partition recovery.
